Oh, And Capital One?

I love you!  Will you marry me?

OMGosh...  OMGosh...

I am clicking my ruby red heels and wondering what I did to obtain that!

No worries, I will be loyal for life (or for as long as you keep making me smile!!!)

I don't understand. Did you get something from your credit card?

Not sure when you started following my blog so synopsis:

Nov 2007: turned employer in for fraud

Dec 2007: fired

July 2008: Escalade declared a lemon by the State of Minnesota AND General Motors itself due to the instantaneous failure of brakes/steering/electronics (including lights, On-Star, hazards...)

Sept 2008: Lehman filed bankruptcy (2000 shares went from $160,000 to $459 in less than 15 minutes)

April 2009: Chase refused to accept payment from GM, so came after me for the balance

August 2009: house enters foreclosure, I'm told Wells Fargo is refinancing it ($650,000 house, $350,000 in equity, even then)

Nov 2009: receive letter saying house OUT of foreclosure, first payment due Jan 1, 2010

Jan 2010: house was in fact foreclosed upon; told by bank the letter I received was simply a "mistake"; have 45 days to move out

February 2010: Chase comes after me: I file my own bankruptcy

May 2010: house is removed from my name, I'm formally foreclosed upon; bankruptcy discharged

In that time frame, my credit score went from 780+ to 300. I could not buy a candy bar on the street corner for 25 cent credit.

Less than 18 months later, worried about how short I'm going to be financially because of school this week (I'm paid hourly due to contract), I received a substantial - very substantial - credit limit increase from Capital One.

And with that, I'm not worried about how I will pay things should they arise before 12-3-11 when I get paid next. Not that I want to use the card, I don't. But if I HAVE to use it, I have funds available. And I have the means to pay it off (even better!)

I was stunned. Absolutely stunned.

And happy :)

I no longer feel like the "loser" cloud is over my head.

I have not read it for that long, but I knew you had some financial troubles. Just did not realize it went back that far and that deep.

Congrats, you have come a long way. Must be true when they say what does not kill you makes you stronger.

Thanks, Guys! I am not going to lie, there were some really dark, really hard times in there where bridge jumping was considered. My blog posts during that time probably reflect some of that.

Then... and however... and here I am!
